Environmental Serv Technician

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for total sanitation, floor care, preparation and organization of patient rooms, floors, bed set-ups, and ancillary areas. # ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES # # Responsible for thorough cleaning of assigned areas including, but not limited to, furniture, tile, fixtures, windows,sinks, tubs, toilets, mirrors, showers, etc. Perform high and low dusting of TV#s, lights, walls, mop floors, elevators and stairs, clean door frames, ceiling vents, and vacuum carpet, etc. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures. Observes all isolation procedures and Infect Prevention Standards. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for different pathogens. Maintains EVS closet, EVS cart, and all equipment in a neat and orderly manner. Reports any safety hazards or equipment in need of repair to supervisor and/or Facilities. Maintain correct amount of supplies. Is knowledgeable on correct chemicals used for different pathogens. Replenishes paper, soap supplies, hand sanitizer. Hangs cubicles/drapes according to department policy. Special project assignments, including coordinating specifics such as; contacting affected departments to advise of upcoming project (i.e. construction projects, wall cleaning, drapes, changing cubicles, window washing, etc.), and post informational signs. Moves furniture, supplies and equipment as requested adhering to departmental safety and lifting procedures. Seeks assistance when in doubt. Responsible for properly mixing and storing chemicals to achieve correct dilution ratio. Uses proper personal protective equipment including safety goggles when needed. Reads directions carefully and asks supervisor when in doubt. Uses wet floor signs, etc. to block off work area. Makes beds in accordance with specific area needs. Is knowledgeable and can identify various bed types.# Utilizes bed tracking phone/pager, places bed in EPIC and removes when bed has been completed.# Responds to phone/pager call from supervisor within 5 minutes.# Reports phone/pager problems to supervisor. Logs out of EPIC. Ensures dismissal rooms are ready for the next patient. Uses Xenex UV Light robot for specified rooms where available. Returns soiled and clean unused mops to department and places in proper containers/areas. Adheres to all applicable regulations and standards. Adheres to proper handling, transport and disposal of allwaste types, including but not limited to: hazardous, infectious, sharps, confidential, recycling, regular trash, universal. Complete DOT Certification in order to package and transport regulated medical waste. Previous cleaning experience helpful. ############ ############################## ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver#s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES # Effectively performs scheduled floor cleaning which includes stripping, scrubbing, finishing, shampooing, and extracting in a timely manner (includes working other shifts for annual floor maintenance) following all unit specific guidelines giving attention to detailed areas such as baseboards, corners, carpet stains, etc. Clean equipment after use. Performs spot cleaning of carpets and carpet bonneting, extraction of carpet, burnishing, and wet/dry vacuum. Operates, understands, and maintains all equipment (i.e. extractors, vacuums, wet vac, burnisher, flatbed, etc.) in a safe and professional manner. Clean equipment after use and ensure batteries are charged. ########### ######################### WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occupational Exposure: Category A - All partners in the specified job classification have occupational exposure. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and fumes or airborne particles. The employee may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. This is a fulltime, 2nd shift position open because the person that is in the position wanted to move to pool position to finish school. We have to have this position as this helps to clean the hospital and clinic in Harvard to keep patients safe and the facility nice.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
