Nuclear Medicine Technologist1

JOB SUMMARY Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies by performing the following duties. Performs duties as assigned by manager. May be asked to flex to various shifts/hours as needed to support the dept. # ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES # # Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses, under direction of Physician. Participates in State Nuclear Inspections. Calibrates equipment. Orders supplies. Assists in developing, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures. Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by Physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film. Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors. Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of Physician. Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials. Working knowledge of PACS. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with certification in radiologic technology and 1 year experience working in the nuclear medicine field, or bachelor#s degree in nuclear medicine with certification or eligible for certification within 6 months of completing program. # CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE #################################################### Certification or eligible for certification in Nuclear Medicine, NMTCB or ARRT-(N)# Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days # ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Passing the Driver#s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
